BEARS TREE RED DEVILS
The Elkmont Red Devils traveled to Lexington for its first regional game of the season on Friday. Lexington roared out of the box early and scored 20 points in the first quarter. Elkmont fought back and made it a game in the second quarter, scoring on a 3-yard run by Davis Hobbs. Lexington answered with a 10-yard touchdown run by Williams, but Elkmont cut the lead to 26-15 on a 3-yard pass from Hobbs to Luke Claunch with 6:02 remaining in the quarter. Making three turnovers, Red Devils weren't able to find the end zone again and Lexington won 47-15.
Davis Hobbs led Elkmont through the air, completing 7-of-12 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions. Peyton Lovell was Elkmont's leading rusher with 48 yards on six carries while Hunter Pitman was the Red Devils' leading receiver with 72 yards on three catches.
Elkmont's homecoming week is featuring Colbert County this Friday. Kickoff @ 7 pm
This is what it is all about! The "Bear Squad" student section decided to have a gold out at our game vs. Elkmont. They chose gold in honor of Leah Seibert, a former cheerleader at Elkmont who sadly passed away recently from cancer.
