Due to budget cuts and the loss of a PE position, Coach David Wilson's contract was not renewed. Sean Holt was promoted to the head coach position on Thursday during the Limestone County School Board meeting. He has been an Elkmont assistant coach for the past 10 years, including the past four as defensive coordinator.
Coach Holt had these words to say about being the new football coach,
“I’m very excited about the opportunity. I know all of the kids really well, so I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be fun.”
Coach Holt has been able to work under three excellent head coaches, Chad McGee, Don Jacobs and David Wilson. Each coach had different areas of strength and Coach Holt will be able to take what he has learned from them and field a team that will have a successful season with a excellent chance to make the playoffs.
The assistant coaches will be:
Duane Wales, Garth Garris, Ethan Whiteside, and Levi Terry
