FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS - ELKMONT VS WILSON

Elkmont football is having Senior night to recognize the seniors this Friday.  This is their last  game for the 2013 season. They are playing the Wilson Warriors.   Win or lose, senior night is always a very emotional night at Boss Hill Stadium.  Good luck Red Devils.   Weather at Kickoff: Wet field; clear skies and 55 degrees with slight breeze out of the west.  Ladies who will be walking out on the field with the seniors, flats will be much better than heels on soft wet ground.

Predictions:

Athens News Courier:

Preview: Two weeks ago, Elkmont controlled its destiny in 3A Region 8. Two consecutive losses have knocked the Red Devils out of playoff contention, but a win over Wilson would finish the season on a high note.

Wilson is a hard team to figure. After being eliminated from playoff contention with back-to-back losses to West Limestone and Central in early October, the Warriors upset Brooks last week to hand the region title to Haleyville. Wilson has held its opponents to exactly seven points in its four wins this season.

News Courier prediction: Wilson 21, Elkmont 10

Decatur Daily:

The skinny: Elkmont is trying to snap a two-game losing skid, while Wilson is on a two-game winning streak. … Jared Bailey and Zeb Pankey lead a strong Elkmont rushing attack. … Last week, Wilson stunned rival Brooks in an upset that crushed the Lions’ hopes for the Class 4A, Region 8 title. Jason Futrell leads the Warriors’ rushing attack. … The all-time series between Elkmont and Wilson is tied 2-2.

The Daily picks: Wilson 28, Elkmont 21
