MORE ON BOSS HILL STADIUM

The Decatur Daily has an article out today about the future of our football stadium.

Highlights:

The decision on whether to build a stadium will be made by the Limestone County Board of Education. Hunter said the school board would need to decide late this summer or early this fall to give school officials enough time to make preparations for the 2017-18 school year.
Superintendent Tom Sisk said he will make a recommendation to the board but has not yet decided which way he’ll go. The proposal comes as the school system prepares to spend about $20 million on a new elementary school for Elkmont.“We want to be sure that we take care of the community, but if we spend $5 million on a new stadium, we may be hard-pressed to come up with the full $20 million,” he said.

Sisk’s recommendation will depend heavily upon which way a majority of the school board would like to go on the stadium. District 1 school board member Charles Shoulders said he has no particular preference.
“I just want to make sure that we’ve got a safe facility for our players and for our parents and the community,” he said.
