MADISON COUNTY TOO MUCH FOR ELKMONT - DARE DEVIL AT THE GAME

Game Summary

From start to finish, this game was all Madison County. Both offenses struggled to put a drive together for most of the 1st quarter. Madison County scored on a short run with under a minute to go. The following PAT was good. At the end of one, Madison County leads 7-0.

The 2nd quarter was all Madison County, they put together scoring drives of 70 and 80 yards with the last one score coming with :50 left before the half. Cody Clark blocked the PAT. Madison County led 20-0 at the half. Elkmont did have a couple of bright spots in the first half. Mike Tucker had two runs of 10 plus yards and also had a 20 yard gainer. Jared Bailey had a 30 yard run on a Quarterback keeper.

The third and fourth quarters were no different from the first two. Madison County took the ball and put together a 60 yard scoring drive and the ensuing PAT was good. Madison County now leads 26-0. Madison County would go on to score again on their next series with a 46 yard TD run. The PAT was good, extending their lead to 33-0. Elkmont would fumble the kick-off and Madison recovered on Elkmont's own 35. The Red Devil defense would keep Madison out of the end zone and get the ball over on downs. Elkmont's next offensive series would end when Madison County came up with an interception. They would later go in to score on a 50 yard touchdown run, PAT no good. Score 39-0. Elkmont would score at the end of the game with a short touchdown run by Mike Tucker.
Observation
Other than Madison County, there is really not anything positive that I can comment on. Plain and simple, we got whipped on every aspect of the game. It's was really hard to watch. Frustrating is the word that comes to mind. The Red Devils play against Clements on Oct. 10, perhaps they can regroup and pull out a win.
