Colbert County 10, Danville 8
DANVILLE — Rafael Rocha’s field goal and extra point proved to be the difference as Colbert County bounced back from a loss last week to edge the Hawks.
Rocha kicked a 35-yard field goal in the first quarter and his extra point after Tyler Lott’s touchdown reception gave the Indians (2-2, 2-1) all the offense they needed to secure the win.  Also, Colbert County successfully defended a 2-point conversion pass in the fourth quarter to preserve the win.  Rocha opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 35-yard field goal. Danville scored on a safety, leaving the Indians with a 3-2 halftime lead.
John Isbell connected with Lott in the third quarter on a 13-yard TD pass. Rocha’s extra point gave the Indians a 10-2 lead.  Caleb Hill answered for Danville (0-4, 0-3) in the fourth quarter with a 1-yard run, but Colbert County stopped the conversion pass for the win.

Clements 41, Danville 0

The Colts notched their first win of the season in a Class 3A, Region 8 shutout against the Hawks.  Senior Lamac Hicks led the Clements offense with 107 yards and three touchdowns. He scored on runs of 41 and 27 yards. Quarterback Matt Belew connected with him for the other score.  Dedrick Barnett was also credited with a score for the Colts as he returned an interception 60-yards for a TD.
