Colbert County 10, Danville 8
DANVILLE — Rafael Rocha’s field goal and extra point proved to be the difference as Colbert County bounced back from a loss last week to edge the Hawks.
Rocha kicked a 35-yard field goal in the first quarter and his extra point after Tyler Lott’s touchdown reception gave the Indians (2-2, 2-1) all the offense they needed to secure the win. Also, Colbert County successfully defended a 2-point conversion pass in the fourth quarter to preserve the win. Rocha opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 35-yard field goal. Danville scored on a safety, leaving the Indians with a 3-2 halftime lead.
John Isbell connected with Lott in the third quarter on a 13-yard TD pass. Rocha’s extra point gave the Indians a 10-2 lead. Caleb Hill answered for Danville (0-4, 0-3) in the fourth quarter with a 1-yard run, but Colbert County stopped the conversion pass for the win.
